The sticky talks about simple sugars and shit and just seems generally outdated for those that follow the IIFYM rule, regardless to what extent. Quote: "But the worst of the worst may be ice cream", I know a lot of you enjoy your B&J's.

Indeed. I've never been much of an orthorexic, I generally consume things like KFC even on a cut. KFC has some god-tier options for fast food, and getting something like a chicken salad from McDonalds isn't too bad either. Subway is alright, too, but if you've ever left one of those things in the fridge and tried to reheat it you question the substances that it's made out of.

That's assuming someone goes over their calorie goals... if someone has the will power to stick within them, eats at least 1g protein and 0.45g fat per lb/lbm they can fit whatever else they want into the remaining calories.

This IIFYM is just a excuse to lack discipline, if its the way you want to do it go ahead.

But eating a healthy & portioned diet from lean sources of protein & complex carbs is always recommended because its the cleanest way towards your goals while actually being healthy for the body.

Let me preface this by saying I'm a big Alan Aragon fan, I even subscribe to AARR.

However I've always found his dismissal of the GI as a bit disturbing. It makes sense to me that it doesn't make any difference when losing weight, obviously if your calories in are less than out you will lose weight but what about when bulking?

What effect will bulking while ignoring GI have?
