The way to win is to actually be in great shape so you have something to back up your advice with.

Too many newbie lifters on /fit/ suddenly think they should be recognised as an authority on working out and nutrition just because they read the sticky and started a lifting routine.

Most of these people still look like absolute shit. People won't listen to you if you look like shit.

Get swole, get ripped, give out advice and then you can be genuinely mad when they don't listen. When people see that you're ripped, they generally assume that you know what you're talking about.

I've actually lost 7 stone since september, im now in great shape and currently have a 4pac, not brilliant, but nigger thats some shit hot progress, these motherfuckers should be listening to me, mainly because i've experienced the best and worst ways of fat loss.

Not good enough. You and I know that's fantastic shit, but regular people are fucking clueless. They don't care if you're progressing towards being in immense shape, they only care when you are in immense shape. Until then most of them won't listen to anything you say.

Even then they'll reject advice if it's not something convenient and easy for them to adopt. Your best bet is to not offer any advice unless some specifically asks you for it, because if you keep butting into peoples' conversations with actual truth (especially truth they don't want to here) you're just coming across as an over-entusiastic know it all.
