I´m 6 feet (183cm) tall, with quite long torso.
I was doing DL rippetoe style (back almost parallel to the floor). I always felt like I´m pulling the weight with my back. I finally filmed myself today and I saw that I round my lower back significantly. Then I tried to lower my hips and filmed myself again. I didn´t feel the lower back at all and it felt much easier to lift the weight. Also my lower back was now straight.
So, only "problem" is, my starting position now looked more like a squat.
I just wanna know is it acceptable to start lower in exchange for straight back?
pic related, it´s my new starting position
tl;dr: I can´t keep my lower back straight while deadlifting unless I lower my hips.
