[1159752738] TV Dinners

No.2772 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
So, I found this in /b/ in a food thread, and I decided to copypasta it here. It was in a thread about some frozen sausage product. Someone posted saying that low cost TV dinners are making the US fat. Here is what Anonymous had to say:

"I'm going to defend TV dinners here. Granted, VERY HIGH IN SODIUM.. Oh well. Lets see what I got in mah freezor.

Brand: Banquet
Cost: $1 dollar a piece.
Boneless Pork Rib Dinner: 370 cal
Meatloaf Dinner:280 cal
Salisbury Steak Dinner: 300 cal
Fried Chicken Dinner: 450

Ok, if you ate TV dinners 3 times a day, Hell, lets even talk about the worst one for you that I've got here, (Chicken) You would have 1350 calories (Less than the 2000 standard, or the 1500 suggested for weight loss) 93% of your daily fat suggestion, 126% of daily sodium (Oh well, drink a glass of water) and lower your carb intake to 36% FDA guidlines.

Please refute. (I have the damn things sitting in my lap right now, and they are chilling my penor, so I shall go)"

They also stated later that they were not pushing an all TV dinner diet, but rather trying to show that they are not as bad as people think.

Please discuss.
