First off, a couple of years ago I went full retard and bought the HD 215 thinking "sennheiser's are good, these must be good", popped them into my computer and got buyer's remorse. Had no idea I'd need an amplifier of some sort to make them sound good.
That said I don't know shit about amplifiers and whatnot, how do they work? What price am I looking at? Would it be worth getting it only for the headphones (I use them for gaming only, got Z5500's for music/movies and shit).
If an amplifier wouldn't be worth it, would a HD555 or HD595 be the better option? Obviously a price difference but not quite sure about the sound difference between the two.
