I noticed something. Everyone on /g/ attempts to compliment one another in tastes, and if you share something unique or independent of that taste, you are ridiculed. The posting of desktops, battelstations, browers, and etc. and then critiquing them to fit a certain "master race" is an enabler to this position. Other enablers are tripcodes, photos, and other unique identifiers which make not just the technology used, but also the person behind the computer readily identifiable for some inane purpose.
The same "rate me", "mine is better than yours", and "/helpdesk/" threads crop up repetitively. One after another they come and then go, each one flooded with the same critique, greentext, and advice hoping that the other party would/will listen to this opinion or become ridiculed for an opposing opinion.
What are your thoughts on this philosophy? Also anyone know why mass transportation, in particular bullet-trains and etc. aren't being developed as the population continues to grow?
