It's an asus p8p67 deluxe with the bad 3gbps ports which caused the recall back in february, I fear if I return it I won't be receiving a new one till they've fixed the problem with the last ones.

The sound problem is not in the hardware anyway, it's because the realtek manager/driver and nvidia gfx card driver with hdmi sound output is not going well together and somehow it causes an annoying rasp.

Second of all the issue is already fixed and if you didn't buy from a shit-tier parts store you should be able to do an advance RMA.
