>>17262871By design laptops are underclocked by the manufacturers with Windows. Ubuntu simply assumes you're using a laptop and automatically underclocks based on that. I agree that Debian assumes performance, but it also assumes stability so those "little tweaks" aren't as essential.
Let's just say Ubuntu based distros. are "just werkz" and for the average soccer mom.
Fedora, Debian, openSuSE are for entry/medium level users. They can also be expert users if they invest a lot of time. Debian and Fedora, especially Fedora, are powerful as fuck.
CentOS, Red Hat, Debian (server, without GUI) are great server based distros.
Arch is for the split of binary and compile.
Gentoo is full out flags and "DIY" with a little help on where to go.
LFS. Build it yourself.
