i need some help badly, I bought myself a new case for my pc and I took apart my old pc to put in into the new one. I have started rebuilding the new old with all my parts but the manual is asking me to plug in my RESET SW P LED+/- H.D.D LED cables. I have all of them here but I can't find the 2 prong connectors they are supposed to go into. I have a acer g45t/g43t am3 motherboard. I found a thing called front panel which is apparently where you plug them into but nothing is labeled on it, it;s just a bar with 3 prongs on it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? pic related im pointing at the 13 prong connection and its my motherboard

You don't absolutely need to.

lrn2google also, can't do shit without telling us your actual motherboard or computer model. acer g45t/g43t am3 is a fuckin pain looks like a m3800? also a closeup pic of the front panel connector would be handy.

fuckshit. Gateway is blowing for this one, i'm used to seeing better. OP, look at the connector from your old case, you're in luck if it's one solid piece, just see where wires run and match them up. (e.g. wire goes to the HDD light, connect the same, etc, etc.) It's bad when googling, DX4820-07h motherboard and you get this thread.

my old pc had the green and white. red and black and blue and white all connected through this 9 slot connection that plugged into something but I tried to plug it into the new case and test it but nope. Maybe its because I can't get power? I can turn on a pc when I have the power supply plugged in and its connected to motherboard right?

OP, not everything is standardized. You should have bought parts that were compatible with your old PC. Anyway, the reset switch is probably connected to some thin wires running from your power supply. If the connections don't fit, try cutting them off and splicing it with the old connector.
OP
AcceptableDickz !DV5E9wg8sk
Ok, between blue and green you have power switch and hdd activity, reset switch isn't always used. i'm assuming red/black originally went to a speaker?

Read the god damned manual.

you don't need the old stuff for any reason other than determining where the new needs plugged in.
When you get it working i'd suggest taking a picture of it for future reference.

>>17263348 the location you marked power switch wasn't used on the connector, so i'd swap it with the reset switch.

yeah, until you buld up a parts box this shit can be annoying. Atm my desktop is powered on by an old HDD light connector that i bought for 0.10. I'd ripped the LED off of it, stripped the wires and connected it to a big red push button that hangs out the front of my case. which used to be a decent looking gateway front panel, until it broke. now it's bare metal with shit sticking out of it. Worst case here op, get it installed and use the old front panel connector to make sure it turns on. Then dick with the new case wires.

>>17263770 It's very easy. You just need a wire stripper and twisted the bared ends of the wires together. If you make a mistake, you can always rewired them back the old way.
OP
I tried both ways on diagram but nothing, but could I somehow attach that old connector from my old pc in the images I posted earlier back into my motherboard and then somehow turn on the current pc with itÉ is that possible? So then I would click a little black button to turn on PC instead of the led power button I'm supposed to use?
