So I am trying to use my 32" 1080i TV as my computer monitor. My video card (evga 9500gt) has 2 DVI outputs. I am converting the DVI to VGA and connecting that to my TV.

Windows is restricting my resolution to 1360x768 which isn't too bad, but I know my TV can display higher resolutions than that. If I get a DVI to HDMI converter, would that allow me to get a 1080i picture?
