I have an integrated graphics card that's currently dying, but luckily had a friend give me a card from their old computer. Physically installed the card into the pcie x16 slot but it's not recognized at all under the device manager, and I'm not quite sure what to do from here.

Do I need to disable or uninstall the on board video in order to install the driver for the new card? Or is it possible that the hardware I'm trying to install in just dead?

Any help is appreciated.
