>Linux is faster and more responsive
Um, no it isn't. Who are you trying to kid?

It takes forever for the "File Upload" box in firefox (or any other file dialog in any program, sometimes including the save document dialog, everything, because these are provided by the OS) to quit randomly farting around, even on moderately sized folders. There are like 4 different incompatible sound API's. Every once in a blue moon the swap file (no, excuse me, swap PARTITION) ties up the system in an "Uninterruptable" mode process thread for ten minutes or more, no warning, no predictable rhyme or reason to it, it just needs to do this every few hours. The traditional boot option is massively duct-tape rigged. And of course flash sucks under Linux.

Not Linux' fault, you say? Maybe. If you actually just mean Linux, just only the Linux kernel Linux, vmlinuz, then no, of course some of this, particularly the flash performance, isn't Linux' fault. The necessity for GRUB certainly was.

And Linux (including the rest of the OS besides the bare kernel) certainly isn't the kind of improvement its evangelists claim it is, even if it's set up expertly and only being applied to a single task, which is something you can run a whole company doing for other people's businesses' IT departments.

So what, you ask? So quit evangelising it and get back to work on it, please. I'll give you another 10 versions to get it right.
