A few other little annoyances - like the menubar being hidden until you hover over it - are detrimental to usability, but I also believe that will be fixed sooner or later.
I think Unity is a step in the right direction and I'm glad Shuttlecock decided to defy some conventions and experiment a little. It's not perfect yet but it makes me very excited for future iterations.
Haters can hate/log into Classic GNOME; I'll continue to enjoy my increased screen real estate. By the way, if Unity made you switch to another distro, you don't know shit about computers.
