Taken from a comment on a blog. Do people genuinely believe that!?

I had to stop and stare at those lines for about 5 minutes just thinking about the people I know that own Apple products. Just... what? Apples are for "geeks"? When did hipsters decide they were geeks?

That's because Macs Just Work and have all the power of a real *NIX machine.

OS X looks like shit and I don't agree with a lot of the UI choices in general, but to say it isn't a very capable and 'geeky' OS is something I could never do.

I'm not shitting on the OS, I couldn't care less about it as an OS. It does what it should. That's fine.

I'm talking about the image of the people using it. What's with people that use the OS being so damn insistent on labeling themselves? I know 2 people that prefer Macs that I would consider "geeks" by the popular definition.

And I've used OS X extensively. Still don't see what makes the trendy OS "geeky"

It's important when Sally thinks she's a "geek", looks at the computer(osx/windows/linux) and doesn't know what she's doing.

The OS itself is w/e. Really depends on the software developed with it in mind.
