So, br/o/ here. I am looking into building my computer for the first time. I found a good combo deal on newegg which gives basically what I want.
i5-2500k
630w power supply
Raidmax Helios case (Don't care about case and has 4 fans)
P67 motherboard
4gb ram
1 tb harddrive
dvd writer drive.
$570
on top of that I'm going to add a HD6950 2gb. $260
1080p 23.6" monitor
$175
Windows 7 and Microsoft office
$220 (Parents paying)
keyboard/mouse

It would be interesting if you would list the name's on all components. Also, I have 8 GB RAM, but have never used more than 3 GB at any one time.

Cool. Don't know much about RAIDMAX, but shame that the HDD is from Seagate - they're infamous for their shitty drives.

Also, I've heard bad things about the UD3, but I guess you really shouldn't worry about that.

It's a good build.

Yeah, well, get the extra RAM if you can afford it. If you plan on changing motherboard, the UD4 is pretty cool.

I don't really know what's bad about the UD3(as I have the UD7), but there have been quite a few people here on /g/ complaining and regretting getting it.

Well. I can't change the motherboard since this is a combo deal which knocks about $100 off total and they got rid of their other combo deals.

And this is my first mid-high end computer. So I don't plan on overclocking a whole lot if at all. And I do think I'll add the extra ram. Does it need to be the same company?
