Also, what you can do is set it to “Adobe RGB (1998)” (I don't know why you have two versions), and then set your monitor to the same.
OS X, unlike Windows, assumes everything is in sRGB by default unless specified otherwise - Windows, when it doesn't know the source color space, just passes the values through to the monitor.
So yes, that'll work out fine. Keep in mind that Safari only uses the perceptual tables of your ICC profile, so that will make color look more “vivid” than they should, but it will preserve color balance and tonal accuracy (skin won't look overly red or green like they do with no color management).
So if you want accurate colors in Safari as well, you'll have to set it to “sRGB IEC61966-2.1” (again, why do you have two?) and then set your monitor to “sRGB” as well. (Or just use Firefox instead of Safari)
However, doing that means you won't have access to any of the very deep reds or green that you could use otherwise, eg. in Photoshop.
