>>209739191)What about alternative power I must ask, being able to cheap alternative power, as much for free as possible seems to me like an important sell.
2)The main thing here really in my opinion would be figuring out how much money we could have in this case, the shared ownership definitely sounds interesting.
3)The outsourcing IT and such seems like it would need a lot of work, website design is something I've found almost always better face to face, but honestly with enough smart people at /g/ there I could imagine making an actually good online tool to work everything out nicely. Remote support to schools and stuff sounds good but they usually have support staff onsite I've noticed, at least all the schools I've gone to. Remote lighting controls, is that really a thing?
Biodiesel refineries sounds interesting anyhow.
Biggest investments I see are:
A)Proper housing
B)Proper power of the island, being as off the grid as possible is very important
C)Finding out as much information about the local government as possible, owning an island where a good local government is around is great as setting up a hospital or some such would be something they could do and we could spare the expense, as that would be very expensive and I doubt we have the people for it
D)Work, food, equipment
It'll be a much bigger investment than the island, that's shooting really low, it would probably take a few million on top of the island as a start.
>>20974268That sounds much cooler and /g/ oriented.
