Philosophy itself is much more profound than any science. How do I prove this? It is hard to say through just one post... uhh... go read all the very first papers/ideas of everything that was ever written/developed, starting from the fundamental laws. Hmm... for example, go read up on how the existence of aether was debunked.
It is just unfortunate that a large proportion of science people (from my experience, which I have tried to make well-rounded by speaking to all sorts of science students) do not realize this; however, neither do most philosophy students because they have never undergone the rigor and discipline of sciences.
These are my strong opinions. On this note, both sides should learn humility and uncertainty.
