Wow.. shit's hitting the fan again.

I'm curious. I saved the image, looked at the file in a text editor, and I can clearly see code of some sort but its all jibberish. What exactly does it do, besides spam the same shit all over the boards?

You mean you opened it with something like Notepad? As far as I know, it's not a virus...A computer-generated images are made from an instruction of many codes, that is the code.

You do know your picture is essentially a sequence of, in this case, 48,000 specifically shaded pixels of colour, right? Image files are really blocks of code that store these sequences.

Retard. BMP images are specific instructions for the colouration of each and every pixel. That's why they are hueg like xbox (but capable of being very very defined and therefore pretty).

JPGs, GIFs and PNG files are compressed by various methodologies and algorithms.

That's why .bmp files aren't used on the internet.

While true, it still lies outside the point of the conversation - that only .gif, .jpg and .png are 'acceptable' file formats on 4chan (and most of the rest of the the web), that uncompressed file formats are hueg liek xbox, and that a .jpg file most certainly does NOT contain '48,000 specifically shaded pixels' (or even the information for same).

BMPs are only a fucking array of R, G, B bytes, simple as that. there are no 'instructions' in bmp, mister specialist.
