>>1065762It is, in some ways, in my opinion, and in other ways this piece is very nice. Some impressionism comes very close or gets even closer to realism than this piece. It really does, in a number of ways. That shouldn't even matter much, but it seems to bother you and seems to be some kind of trigger or sticking point. The outdoor painting of many of the impressionists led to a great understanding of natural color and light. Some, really more often the post-impressionists, purposefully invented color situations, and that's great, but it's certainly not what I'm referring to here.
What we have here, with this picture, has its wonderful attributes and also its shortcomings, as far as my experience of the piece is concerned.
I don't understand or accept all of the angst and vitriol and politics.
