This is for professional purposes you said, but I would say that unless the profession in question frequently makes use of cork-boards in practice then scrap that idea, it looks childish. With web design you should try to stay away from pattered backgrounds. Tiled images get very distracting and annoying, especially when viewed and resolutions you didn't create them in. If you really love the corkboard idea you should photoshop the background to make it have less contrast. Generally flat colors will look far more stylish.
Honestly the clouds and little drawings would make me think as an employer, "Awww how cute, these guys obviously saw the movie Juno...NEXT APPLICANT!!!"
Again, unless you're going for something very laid back or this page (once finished) will be an amazing testament to your webdesign skill then i'd go for something more professional.
