I need your help. I'm trying to pick out a portfolio of 8 pieces for a scholarship... but since I'm already so familiar with my pieces, I can't really say with certainty which of them I like the best.. So I turn to you /ic/.

Which pieces do you guys like the best? Also C&C if you would like.

tl,dr; I NEED MONEY FOR COLLEGE HALP TELL WHICH NUMBERS BEST.

You seem to do great landscape/objects, but your people look weak.
4, 5, and 10 are not that good compared to the rest.
...did you even do all of these?

Yeah... 3 years of drawing nothing but (bad) animu people will do that to you.

This is a collection of about 1 and a half years work... in my art class, I'm pretty much given free reign, so I just experiment with a bunch of different styles. Some pieces differ in quality based on how much other homework I had at the time, how closely I wanted to follow the reference, what I think would win a contest, etc.

My first picks would be 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14. The important thing is to not have too many pieces demonstrating the same thing. Many art schools (I assume the scholarship is for art school)want to see you trying different stuff. So include your strongest pieces, like some of your landscapes, but also include experimental pieces like 13, and different types of subject matter like your animals, and 8, which I think is your strongest portrait. 2 maybe should go in too, since it's so different, but I'm not certain what it would replace... Maybe 1?

Then again, if this is an external scholarship, as in, judged by people who are not necessarily pro artists themselves, then just load it with your best pieces regardless of subject. 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14. Easily.

Since my dad is a struggling artist I've been around it my whole life. I have a couple of friends in RISD and I remember it was only last year they were sending their portfolios.

1,2,4 are the shit. Great work, scholarships will love that.
11, 13 are amazing too.
9,6,8 are really good. Scholarships look for that little extra that are in the first couple but these are still good.
