I feel pretty comfortable doing faces and busts but when it comes to full body anatomy I just wing it on the spot, and coming back to hate it when I look at the picture again a few moments/days/years later. I think the problem is, I never did things the 'right' way. I've hardly picked up an anatomy book or looked up references, but I'm trying to do it the 'right' way this time, starting from scratch with perspective lessons and daily gesture drawing sessions. I'm so used to diving into big, ambitious projects with tons of details and shading, kind of makes me hate going back to basics, but if it helps me improve I'll suck it up.
You're right, it's silly to expect improvement when I haven't been at it for two years. I did do some garment designs over that break (not Croquis models, though) so I'd like to think that kept me from becoming too rusty.
