Seiyuu otaku are very misunderstood due to a few fringe weirdos, I guess.
- They don't confuse a character with the seiyuu and love the seiyuu like the anime character. If anything, it's the other way around - they watch a show and like a character due to who's acting sometimes.
- They are some of the most social otaku, always going to events, traveling around, and making new friends.
- They cheer on their favorites no matter their age, and care less about looks and more about voice. (I'm not saying looks don't matter at all, the amount depends on the person, but generally looks are just a "bonus".
- Rage over dating seiyuu and the like does make them look bad. But please keep in mind it's mostly in jest, and when a seiyuu gets married, everyone congratulates them, and their career continues. The main issue with this kind of thing is just people concerned with seiyuu who put on an act in front of their fans.
- Loud cheering at concerts and such may be shocking to those outside the culture. But it's actually really fun, and a great way to communicate to the singer without disrupting, showing you like and know the song. Also it creates a lot of unity in the crowd. Of course if a singer doesn't like it, she will say so, and the crowd will be silent.
