>>15048478Not to mention you would need a deep water certified navigator, meteorologist, sonar/radar operator.
I worked in a breaker yard for a bit, Got a welding certification.
And yes, these boats generally run on a slightly cleaner version of crude oil, and they are NOT efficient about it either. Even the old trawler i volunteered on in new orleans ran on the stuff, and it was a little 2 banger.
Being that that ship ius as old as it iss it will more than likely have steam generators, which means boilers, so you'll be needing a boiler tech and someone certified to maintain that.
Boats are not cheap to operate, in reality it would be easier to update all the hardware than learn all the old stuff, more efficient engines(multifuel works good, and means you can run it off waste oil and bacon fat).
It would need a dry dock inspection to be declared sea worthy and also need a number/name assignment(the guy i worked for on that boat salvaged a boat and we had to go through all of it).
It would also need lifeboats....and yes, this WILL keep a boat in dock until remedied.
Any vessel that rates over a specific weight has to have at least 3 life boats iirc....been a long time since i read any of the maritime junk.
HOWEVER, you COULD park it off the coast, set anchor, and sell full auto weapons from it, so long as you did it from international waters...like 3 miles out from the coast iirc.
