if you're using the sling for a role in which you may need to use the rifle against another human being, the single point is a pretty good choice.
-it doesn't get in the way of weapon manipulations at the front of the rifle, i.e. grip on the forearm, loading the magazine, etc.
-easy transition from strong side to weak side and vice versa
-the rifle hangs in a readily accessible position when not in use
-can be easier to detach the rifle quick, compared to SOME two point/three point slings
