quick question.. Whats the verdict on suppressors are they legal or illegal.. I've also seen these so called "civilian" suppressors that are massive...But then I've also seen that you can purchase them online as well..
Enlighten me please I'm confused and i figured you guys would have the answers

Suppressors are an NFA item. They're restricted by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
Average citizens are allowed to own suppressors of any make model or type provided they pass a background check and pay a $200 tax stamp. States have the right to govern themselves on all matters not set out in the constitution, so some state governments explicitly ban them. Much to my dismay Minnesota happens to be one such state.

As far as the federal government is concerned you can own them.
Though it ultimately boils down to where you live.

The tax stamp alone costs $200.

That's on top of the silencer.

There's also a background investigation by the fbi and a 6 month waiting period.
