No surprise.. Why spend $100 billion on jets that, when need comes, require approval from US to operate and maintain (ie. strings)?
France actually offers technology transfert. No country wants to be stuck in that puddle. A less superior fighter is still better than a grounded fighter.

I understand the deceision not to buy more Russian and not to buy Amerikan stuff, but why the hell would'nt they want the Saab Gripen? Would it have posed a too big a threat to the LCA Tejas?

I bet the EuroFighter will win. Better performance then the Rafale.

Well no. It's MUCH worse AND more expensive. I can't recall a single exercise where it didn't get its ass handed down to it when confronted to Rafales.

I agree with the Grippen though. Not the best but really cheap. It should definitely have been considered.

The reason that India doesnt buy Amerikan is due to the fact that the US government doesnt allow tech transfer to happen to the Indian's which was their requirement of buying these planes.

The plane that is chosen by the MMRCA would be replacing the aging Indian fleet.

Thats strange, the EuroFighter has better specifications. Better engine thrust, higher service ceiling, longer range, slightly faster speeds.

Any source of the Rafale VS EuroFighter excersises?

-MiG-29K for carrier operations.
-MiG-21.
