what are the benefits and drawbacks of a 50 metre tall automated sentry that fires 105mm rounds?

also, instead of just firing the round it fires the whole shell

So it fires case less ammunition then? Well ONE it would cost a fuck-ton to make a 50 meter/164 foot tall sentry. Also It being that big it would have problems with mobility. How would you get it from one place to another?

I know about portal, and nothing fires "with science" it's either cased, or not. Now portal turrets fired dark energy rounds but those can't be measured. Plus he said NOTHING about a portal turret, he said 50 meter sentry.

Well its a turret, so it's mainly for defence.

Its actually quite logical to fire 'the whole bullet', because making projectiles requires quite allot of skill. Instead, why not just re-invent the firing mechanism.

Kinda looks like some sort of ultra-fast spring loaded mechanism. However we know that a yellow muzzle blast is involved so it probably uses some sort of conventional propellant and no flash hider.
