I was browsing "thift" shops with my mom and looked through the vinyls on the off chance I'd find a copy of Ken: By Request Only, and I stumbled upon this.
In 1958 the documentary crew went through Army basic training for 2 weeks at Fort Ord, California while strapped with microphones and tape recorders. In those two weeks they used 10 miles of recorded tape which has been "distilled into the 48 memory-filled minutes of this record".
On the back cover it talks about the makers getting a blood blister from the M-1 Garand's bolt. Too bad I don't have a record player to listen to this.
