I'm one of those faggots that likes to do project guns. How would a basic springfield armory G.I. with no frills do for a base pistol to build into my own custom 1911? anything wrong with the matierials? also, how expensive would it be to get the slide gunsmithed for more common sights? any suggestions if you know a better base gun?
