/k/ ever make pipe bombs before?

ive made a few, i used gun powder and pieces of pipes from home depot. drilled hole into pipe cap and inserted a fuse. noticed that when it blew up, exerything came out the cap end. so on second bomb i drilled a hole in the side of the pipe to put fuze, this time the whole pipe exploded and i got a much better bang. anyone else have any personal experiences with such things?
