Alright /k/ I am planning to move somewhere down south in the next couple years because fuck snow, fuck rust, and fuck NYS. I was heavily considering Texas but am open to options. I want to hear from you /k/ommando's about where you live and the gun laws. Also, I want somewhere where I can get a nice house on a decent chunk of land with woods on it.

Pro: the only thing that's banned is full-auto, pretty much everything else is cool. Silencers, standard-cap mags, collapsible stocks, flash hiders, bayonet lugs, pistol grips, it's all good. No registration, no license to possess, no license to acquire, no store-it-inna-safe requirement, and if you have a carry permit, you're considered a pre-approved good guy and can skip the waiting period for a handgun and take it home the same day. Oh, and we're shall-issue on the carry permits, you don't have to be buddy-buddy with the Chief of police or be famous or rich or any shit like that.

Not sure about SBRs.

Con: rains 9 months out of the year.

Pro: turns out rain is a natural Californian-repellent.

Texas has pretty much no anti-gun laws on the books. Nothing is banned at all (except for the stuff banned by the federal government), but if you want to carry a handgun you have to get a CC permit; there is no open carry of handguns here. You "can" carry rifles and shotguns on your back, but nobody really does that and you should expect to have the police called anyway.

Fuck TX. Tennessee is a great state, esp when it comes to firearms and laws. Land is cheap, you have mountains if you choose. weather is pretty good year round. not nearly as many spics as in TX, NC, Ga.

Gun laws, Pretty open state on guns. CCL are very easy to get.

Pro's: No Blizzards, Dust storms, Hurricanes, Tornados, rains during fall/winter but that happens everywhere.

Georgia isn't a bad place to live, as long as you live in the right area.

Pros: Pretty lax gun laws, both developed and non-developed areas are present, beautiful women, amazing food. Also is a very conservative state.

Cons: Almost all of the developed areas are swarming with naggers (Atlanta), asians (Gwinnett), or spics (Lilburn). I live in the asian part (not asian, for what it's worth), and I find them to be the most-tolerable. Sure, a lot of signs aren't in English, but they aren't as annoying as the blacks and browns can be.

TL;DR, come to Georgia.

Cons: CCW is one of the most expensive in the union. Takes 12 hours of classes. Class and fees end up over $300. No open carry.

Colorado

Pros: Cheaper CCW, less class time, no state level non-federal restrictions, GREAT hunting, lots of public land to shoot on without retarded rules, good gun clubs, open carry legal everywhere but Denver and Boulder. HUGE competition scene - IPSC, 3-gun, tactical rifle, 2-gun matches and long-range precision matches all within a few hours' drive of Denver/Co Springs.

Cons: Cops are assholes to open carriers and CCW holders; if you ever encounter a cop and he finds out you're OCing or have a concealed weapon, expect to eat pavement and be handcuffed, except in rural areas. Denver has an assault weapons ban, though its not really enforced.

Nope. Statewide pre-emption, only body that gets to regulate guns is the state legislature. Local douchebaggery is explicitly forbidden (altho one of the recent mayors of Seattle tried it.... he got his ass kicked to the curb in the next election. Not so much because of that, more general incompetence, but the local pols know that being anti-gun is not career-enhancing move).

But it does appear that the ban list is Full-auto and SBRs. Ah, well, nowhere's perfect.

AFAIK, our gun laws are pretty okay. Our CCW permit is nice and recognized by a bunch of states. The Senate, hopefully, will pass a week version of Open-Carry law that will protect CCW'ers from accidental exposure of the weapon only.

Florida is a mixed bag. Lots of bad and lots of good here. Orlando is a crazy place to be at sometimes, okay at others. I can't speak for other towns or night-life/entertainment/gun-ranges.

The only thing I can really say is I don't get bothered when I talk about guns or say I own a gun down here. Everyone seems pretty chill.
