hey nec/k/beards

why do you all hate sig exeter so much? yes i understand that it has american made parts in them, but that does not make it a shitty gun. i have had my p220 for 8 years and NEVER have i had a single ftf or fte, it was accurate as hell right out of the box, it feels really good and sturdy and its a breeze to maintain. so why hate sig exeter?

I don't mind Sigs at all. But most of the douchbags who own Sigs for some perception of 'status' are intolerable losers.

German made maybe, the pistols where always made by the german Sauer part of the company. Only rifles where made in Switzerland, san swiss arms now.

doesn't matter how well your SIG performs. if its worked then good for you, enjoy it. SIG still uses a ton of MIM parts in their guns, are overall low quality and have multiple failures that theyre known for today.
the hate for SIG isn't just on here.

nope. "SIG" rifles are made in Switzerland (production is being moved to Germany I heard). "SIG Sauer" handguns are made in Germany and Exeter. the good stuff in Germany, pic related. Exeter-exclusive stuff is all the derptastic stuff like the P238, rainbow colored guns, PLATINUM UH-LEET, DONT TREAD ON ME, the 1911s, the AR-15 clones,... basically everything that appeals to the redneck customer.

Just to correct the misinformation in this thread...
The original company in Switzerland was SIG. They made the original P226, SIG 55X series, and many other notable designs used by the Swiss military even further back.
SIG was always a manufacturing company, not just an arms company.
They entered partnership with a German company that was purely for importing their firearms from Switzerland to Germany and then the rest of the world to get around import laws in Switzerland. The company was called SIGARMS and recently changed it to SIG Sauer in 2008 or something.
Around the year 2000, the original Swiss SIG decided to stop it's commercial manufacturing of arms to focus on production of packing machinery, Swiss Arms took over production for the military of Switzerland and some commercial sales (I think). SIGARMS/SIG Sauer broke off from the original Swiss SIG and began operating as their own entity, producing the original SIG's designs in Germany and America.
The quality and value of German/American SIGs is substantially less than their original Swiss counterparts, and you are certainly not getting a gun that is true to the original name and reputation of SIG.
Unless your gun was made in Switzerland, it's not a real SIG.
