I'm assuming most of you would probably die in the first few months, but assume society is completely destroyed and will never return how will you survive?

I'd go west, back to Oregon country, where there is still lots and lots of pristine woodland and mountain country with lots of resources and game to hunt. Also much much less people around than the east.

Getting back there would be a pain. I'd have to steal a suitable vehicle (my honda ain't gonna cut it), brave bandits and unlawful checkpoints along major highways, and steal/barter for fuel along the way. I'd be worth it to get away from this shithole called the east coast though.
