Going to buy a few handguns here in a bit, but I can't decide what setup to go with.

Ideally i want a setup that would be cheap to shoot but still effective in a SHTF scenario, or zombies, hunting, whatever, with ammo that is inexpensive, plentiful, and easy to come by.

I'm a huge fan of Ruger.

I had an idea of getting the SR9 (love it), and the Blackhawk single action convertible that shoots .357/.38/9mm. That way I can just stock up on 9mm and shoot all my guns, and pick up .357 for hunting or whatever.

However, I am a huge fan of .45 revolvers, and a single action in anything but .45 just seems wrong to me

So, my other Idea is to get a 1911, and the .45 long colt/.45 ACP Blackhawk(or vaquero!) convertible. That way I can just stock up on .45 ACP, and wont have to buy the absurdly expensive .45lc, but could still shoot it if the mood struck me.

Or, I could just keep my calibers separate and buy my favorite revolver, the GP-100 6 inch .357/.38 and get the 1911 or the sr9.

I hope you guys can understand my dilemma and help me make a decision. pls halp
