Obama was going to get a second term without Bin Laden's death. This just helped cement his coming victory and gave the Republicans a steeper uphill battle.

We still have troops in Iraq. And Afghanistan. And we're spending money on Libya.

The death of Bin Laden is significant, but it only matters if there is real value in getting rid of him. Will Al Qaeda and other terror networks capitulate because of this? Will American soldiers be able to leave the Middle East?

If none of that happens, then this is only a short-lived morale boost that will be nearly irrelevant by the time election season rolls around. If Obama does nothing with it, then his campaign will have to use it to justify his reason to continue handling the war in Afghanistan.

Dunno about the rednecks, but I think his economic team sucks ass.

Maybe, depends on the economy. When people don't have jobs, they usually vote for the new guy.

Obama's gonna be taken a lot more seriously on defense issues now. I expect the "Jimmy Carter II" stuff to stop pretty quick... and it sounds like Gadaffy would have died this weekend too, if the bomb hadn't been a dud.
