It's imposable for one person to understand all the major factors of acting as the executive of a country. The job, effectively, becomes a persons ability to collect data, find experts and understand their points of view, then deciding a course of action and providing the leadership to see the course of action though, often while compromising with the legislature.
Running a company is much, much simpler. While oversight exists, an executive has much more power to choose a course of action and the actual business of a company is generally narrowly enough defined to allow actual personal expertise in most of what is done.
