>>9922045The last thing I remembered was the puzzled look on the "face" of the lead dragon. He couldn't figure out what the hell we were doing. Shouldn't we be screaming and running, instead of fiddling with a funny-looking backpack?
And then there was light.
Lots of light...
And then a silence that might have lasted a second or a century.
"Arise," a woman's voice said.
I stood up. Shaky as new fawn. Jake was trying to stagger to his feet. I helped him up.
A hot blonde carrying a spear and wearing leather, fur, and bits of armor was smiling at us.
"Hey," I said slowly, trying to figure out what the fuck was what.
"Brave ones," she said as she offered her hand to us. Jake and I exchanged looks.
"She's gotta nice rack," Jake observed after a brief pause.
I smacked him on the back of the head, but the girl just laughed.
"Take my hand," she said softly. "We have far to go."
"Waddya think?" Jake asked me.
"Where we going?" I asked the lady.
She seemed to think that over before answering, "To a place with many nice racks."
"Sold!" yelled Jake as he grabbed me and dragged me towards her.
I didn't fight it. Whatever came next, at least I would have a brother with me to guard my back.
