Mobile suits

hello /m/
I don't know much about gundam, but i got involved in a vs debate with a friend and I need to know how big the largest mecha/mobile suit is
All I've managed to find so far is they average 18m but i need to know how much they vary from this.

something like 50m.
and devil gundam got the size of a space colony.

I'm no expert either, but I think the Zeong seems pretty big (with legs) at 30m

well...
there was only 1 devil gundam.
dunno about the psyco.
there is also the destroy from destiny but i dont know the size of that, but they are huge and are massproduced.

The bigger Gundams/Mobile Suits like the Zeong, the Psycho Gundam, etc. are all unique weapons. Mass produced suits are almost always less than ~20m.

Devil Gundam (and anything else from G Gundam) is from a VERY different show, known for being awesomely ridiculous. Depending on the nature of the vs. debate, it may or may not be qualified.

how good is weapons penetration of a normal gundam?
in particular how easily could a typical gundam break through the walls of a fortress or something made of metal/stone that is meters thick?

Typical Gundam weaponry is a beam saber and rifle. Both cut through other mobile suits like a hot knife through butter. However, your typical pre-mid season upgrade Gundam lacks the heavy weaponry needed to punch through meters of steel wall. PEW PEW lasers can only do so much.

Then you have the overkill ones, like Wing Zero. Even then he needed a few shots to penetrate an underground fortress several hundred meters underground, protected by layers of... stuff. That seems to have become the standard power level for season end Gundams nowadays.

It really varies by series and individual unit, honestly. Artillery-types from high-powered series like the title units of Gundam Wing and Gundam X, or any of Tieria's suits or Team Trinity from Gundam 00, can melt their way through normal fortifications with relative ease. However, most older series don't have this kind of firepower in a regular mobile suit; it's mainly newer spinoffs, and even then, different mechs have different specialties.

Just bringing this up, does that imply that said debate isn't limited to only Mobile Suits? 'Cause there's a whole world of mecha that absolutely dwarf Mobile Suits. If so, than the title of "Largest" if often argued here between 3 different mechs. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Getter Emperor, and one more who's name eludes me at the moment because I've never seen it.
Just to give you an idea, I can't tell you how big the unnamed one is because as i said, i don't remember, but Getter Emperor and TTGL are galaxy-sized.

However, if it IS limited to Mobile Suits, I'd have to go with Devil Gundam, or if it doesn't count, then Psycho Gundam.

I was talking about the gundam series only
I wasn't sure if there here any non mobile suit mecha in that series

If it helps the mecha side I'm arguing for the mainstay mechs approach 100m tall, while the largest are nearly 200 and they are protected by armour plating meters thick(exact measurement is not given as far as I know) combined with several layers of energy shields. They are rather slow but still capable of targeting and destroying low flying supersonic aircraft.

In the Gundam Franchise, non Mobile Suit mechs are called Mobile Armors, and they're (typically) much larger.
I think the largest Mobile Armor was the Neue Ziel at nearly 80 meters in height.
