Fantasizing is a bit lame, but bear with me.

I/m/agine Armored Core, only with super robots, and more arcadey gameplay.

The restrictions on ammo and energy distribution and cash would be a great deal less, it'd be awesome and colorful, and there'd be all kinds of fucked up weapons like giant razor boomerangs and huge chained tomahawks and like, missles with drills on them or something I guess.

The fucked up broad scope of things you could make would ensure that if you still wanted to use some tired real robot looking thing you could, but if you wanted to fight in a three headed six armed ashuramecha or one that could transform into a semi, you could do that too.
