Macross:
When I heard about the release, I thought that ADV would be a bunch of cheap bastards and strip the discs of special features like they do for so many other boxed sets. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into Best Buy today for Black Friday.
All 36 episodes of Macross, sub and dub, all special features, including interviews and commentary, with a beautiful display case. But that wasn't all. Only $64, when buying all of the DVD's would have run me $210.
Mospeada and Southern Cross:
I look over towards my right, and I see Southern Cross and Mospeada for $42, 48 episodes in all. Just subs, but excellent nonetheless, and less than $1 per episode. Such a deal for such good anime!
Now, I wish that ADV would do this more often. Bring us the subs of a series like Ideon on a few DVD's at low, low prices. No special features, promotion, or frills, just the series itself in its entirety.
