Probably would be a "Banpresto fixes" series like Brain Power'd. They would have to tweak things a ton to get other shows into Zero Time, and the Cybodies out of Zero Time.
>>6406311The subbed episodes of Mazinger z, Great Mazinger, Getter Robo, Braigar, Daitarn 3, etc. None of those featured 10-15 minutes of nothing but mecha action straight. I know /m/ loves to build up a fictional definition of these old super robot shows, where they are all about titular robots, the main characters have no personality existing only to pilot the robots, every super robot is nearly invincible, and the hot blooded pilot always wins with no effort, but most of the old stuff I've seen is never like that. The out of cockpit stuff is frequent, you are going to see the main characters going on picnics, and crashing go carts. While they do get cliche after a while, the main characters do have distinct personalities, and interact with each other. Fights depend on the series, but it's seldom "hero pushes instant win button". Dr Hell and Cronies may have been forced to use monsters of the week everytime (even the manga mixed things up) but they were always trying to play against Mazinger's weaknesses. Kouji often had to think of new strategies, and come up with stuff on the fly ("Mazinger can't fly? Then lets just bombard it from the sky!" "Hey let me borrow your Breast Missiles". Daitarn's fights were brutal, but it fit the character. Banjo was going to tear every Meganoid to pieces, and nothing was going to stop him. That first fight against the Meganoid commander I still find impressive. The commander kept using weapon after weapon, desperately trying to survive with Banjo just crushing them, one after and another, before hitting with that over the top final attack when the commander was at his weakest.
