I'll assume you've seen SBYamato since you said you've seen most of Leiji's out put and suggest Toward the Terra ("Terra e..."). Both the 1980 film and the 2007 TV series are good.

Heroic Age is another to consider the story isn't nearly as good as Terra or anything Leiji has done but it has for fairly nice action.
