The demonstration was shown to Next Generation in August 1997. The robot, made off 6000 polygons, with chrome textures and having only 20 bones[1], danced in small room to demonstrate the cheapness of skeletal animation, in contrast to vertex animation expensiveness. The robot was intended to crash the engine, however, it didn't.
