Holy shit, almost done season 1. Now I'm depressed that this will never be adapted as big budget hollywood remake while Tran-Shitformers gets another sequel. Don't you think it would work really well? Who would you cast?

I'd keep it animated, and out of Hollywood. There's nothing, movie-wise, that can come out of California and not be dripping with money-grubbing incompetence.

Personally, I'd accept it for what it is right now and be glad that nobody's come up with the bright idea to turn it into another one of those by-words for success that devolved into mediocrity.

Give the original writers a chance to write a satisfactory ending, don't give it to Hollywood they'd just slap its name on some vaguely similar script because they know morons will still see it.

Only Japan could make alive action movie of this. Even then it's shaky. Yatterman was a good adaptation although making Yatterwan all red was weird, and totally deforming YatterKing. Still for live action I liked it.

I dunno. He kind of has a point, to be honest. The Big O is a strange combination of camp (The watch, the crazy villains, the steampunk aesthetic) and gothic, existential horror- One that might not translate well to the big screen. Well, unless Tim Burton does it.

...Well, how about Christian Bale as Roger, and Johnny Depp as Schwarzwald?

As far as a live-action movie....it could actually work really well, especially since the mechs in it move slowly and widely enough that you could do it in CG and have it look really believable and accurate to the show without going nuts with the budget. The issue would be getting the right people to work on it. Who would /m/ have cast/direct/produce?

Honestly, for a role like Schwarzwald, it seems like you'd need to go with someone who's great at projecting just through their voice, since the bandages mean you run the risk of a 'Willem Defoe as Green Goblin' scenario again.

Then again, comparing with his dub voice, I still think Brad Dourif could make a good match for Schwarzwald (remember, he is presumably supposed to be older. At least if the manga's take on Siebach is any indication.)
