the wrapping on the new manga volume is censured for some reason. people think it's an anime announce, kinda like the way they did with unicorn, but it's most likely another manga or short story collection.

Well, the Souske next to the blurred area appears to be drawn in the manga style (doesn't seem quite right for the novels, and is WAY off for the animes).

So, sadly, a new show isn't likely to be what's behind the mosaic.

So the censored part of the manga could be anything other than that.

That said, I too would rather see the main story continued, especially considering that any new FMP anime would be a minor miracle at this point.

That's a big over exaggeration. IIRC, he said doing a mecha show is a lot of hard work and needs a lot of planning.

I don't think he hates it as he was seen hanging with Shouji Gatoh and a Kodansha producer last winter.

Anyway, 2ch are speculating a season 4 may be a joint with Gonzo as some of the staff from the KyoAni seasons are working with the Gonzo season 1 staff on the new Last Exile anime.

The last Gonzo anime that I saw was Blassreiter and I thought the animation quality was good.
As long as the Arm Slaves stay in 2D, I think I'm fine with that.

Considering Gonzo has come back from the dead and trying to re-invent themselves, I'd like to think they'll put a bit more effort into the show. Blassreiter was at a time when Gonzo was pumping out loads of anime shows each year. Hopefully if they produc LAst Exile 2 with good enough production quality, then FMP being a joint between Gonzo and KyoAni might not be a bad idea.

Gonzo actually used a fair bit of 3D in FMP. Strangely, it was REALLY FUCKING GOOD 3D for the most part though, despite being done way back in 2000. They never used it for major action dynamic sequences, just repetitive motion like marching and transformations, etc.

The first two Codarl shots and the Arbalest's shoulders popping open are 3D. The 3D in Strike Witches S1 was pretty well integrated as well if you ignore the actual models looking like shit half the time. (they're better than IS' derpy looking 3D girls though)
