Matter of opinion. Many designs are ugly pieces of shit, but the Strike and derived were cool. Ditto many of the ships, especially the Archangel.

Indeed. I was referring to the background concept of a "racial war between enhanced humans and normal people", which Fukuda somehow manages to utterly waste.

It's complicated. It's not a bad show, but if you are watching for the usual reasons (expecting plot, character development, action, etc) you will be extremely let down. SD just doesn't care about those things. Now if you are watching the show solely for dialog, crazy antics, and cyptic going ons, you might like it.

They can die. The main character just defeats them in ways that don't kill. When it's brought up, it's a problem for all of 30 seconds until the asspull of the episode appeared.
