For the most part most VNs that have been translated are on engines that tools already exists for, or are simplistic to hack.
And really, dating VNs have only been really translated officially by JAST and the like.

Yeah I'm sure no one wants to see a Gihren's Greed game translated. No one at all.

On that subject, any actual reason why no one has touched the games with a 10ft pole? I'm guessing all of the possible scenarios would mean an insane amount of work, but anything else?

Because learning a new language enough to translate a full game takes years, and the actual effort even of just the translating would be quite high. Modding an existing english game with new units would probably be far easier even without the new language part for many.

I only did some characters. So unless we're talking about different ones, that's no menu translation.

The menus really aren't complicated at all. You can figure everything out in 2 minutes of trial and error. The only thing that would be good to know is what the fuck the character special abilities do.
