and yeah, like people who only saw Code Geass and Gurren Lagann for example can mostly fill those spots with the characters.

Well, I find that most of the Code Geass and GL units are pretty useful.

The Burai's are good healer units that can actually dodge. Zero's tactics are awesome. Guren is one of the best reals in the game. Tohdoh is the only one that doesn't really have any outstanding qualities.

King Kittan is pretty decent. With Kittan's ace bonus, and support defense, he makes a very good tank. Casting Guts every turn is pretty awesome. Yoko/Dayakka are kinda useless though. There are better long range units. Dai-Gurren is battleship. Aside from taking hits, and giving GL a powerful combination attack, it's kinda meh.

Oh, by the way, I really dig the battleships in this game. Dai-Gurren is basically a tank unit that can attack even after moving. Macross has some nice long range attacks, that are quite useful with Hit & Run. Ptolemaios isn't that great, but it's healing and seishins even it up.

But I still dislike Gekko-Go, or whatever it's called.

Todoh is actually really solid. He's not fantastic, but he's overall a good real robot and his Ace bonus makes him able to survive the occasional unlucky blow. He was never up there with Kallen/Lelouch when it came to power from Geass pilots but he remained an overall solid addition to my team. The Akatsuki Combination is actually a really good attack and easy to spam.

You get to use Guy during Alpha 2 on Kusuha's first stage. All he gets is Will Knife. There's also battle animations for Galeon and for Jeeg's ground form, since Guy and Jeeg fight briefly during a cutscene in Zengar route and Galeon attacks EI-02, but I don't know if either of them can actually be used outside cutscenes.

We also have this Giant Robo baddie with the monocle (haven't watched it) who fights himself against Domon in 64.

Also in SRW D we have these units from Megazone, which have the main character riding a bike that transforms into his mech. And also we have that white alien from Macross 7.

And obviously Bonta-Kun and the Tekkamen in J and W.

That would be damn cool, but somehow I am hoping for Esther as a pilot instead. Somehow it just fits better.
Maybe something like the Cerberus Ignite or the Garmraid Blaze, just two forms where they swap piloting duties.

At least we had 2 choices of mecha in MX to make up for one protag.

Damn, I was hoping the trailer at the end of the game didnt show the Eureka 7 movie. I really wanted the tv show to return, I mean the Spec V sucks alot.

Oh and after finishing the game, it appears that unit upgrades , kills, PP and cash carryover due too that quasi intermission after the final level. I'm really hoping some of the BGMs from this game carryover to the next.

The Shin Jeeg thing disappointed me, it should have been a full form. Yeah it didn't do shit in the show, but they could have just given it powered up versions of regular Jeeg's attacks or something. They've created whole new units in the past like Mazinkaiser and Great Zeorymer, I don't see why they couldn't come up with some new attacks for units that don't have a lot while they're at it.

Not that TTGL needs though, it has the rifle and sword and missile attacks as mentioned.

Toudou has been one of my better units, I wouldn't really rank Kallen too far above him, his mecha is only slightly weaker in terms of stats, and I think his personal stats are slightly higher/roughly the same (hard for me to say, since my Toudou is 2 levels higher).

Admittedly, she gets that radiation shield that helps a bunch and can usually just cast Invincible and go on for about 5 turns before getting hit, while Toudou usually needs to keep up Focus, depending on the terrain/specific enemies.

At least, in my experience, I could be just completely wrong.

His final attack ignores size and barriers, I think. It's nowhere near Karen but definitely way above Lelouch (combat-wise), it's just a matter of upgrading. I can do around 9~8k on grunts at max morale, not bad compared to Karen's 10~12k and Lelouch's 6~7k

SRW Z2 is my first SRW with voices. First I played the 2 OG GBA games, played K and L raw, and played J with translation.

After spending years of seeing bitching on /m/ on how horrible the unvoiced SRW games are, and how they aren't worth playing if they don't have voices, I have to say the voices seem to add nothing to the experience. Hell in the case of the older shows, like Trider, Zambot 3, and God Sigma, the weird echo is so distracting I'd say it detracts from the experience. There are some cool uses of the voices, like when a show is introduced and everyone voices iconic lines, or howKamina's deatwas handled, but there is nothing there I can do without especially since 95 of the voices are in the part I start skipping once I've seen all the attack animations for the unit. Not complaining, just don't see why so many people thought the DS games not having voices was such game breaker. (L and K had a ton of faults, which I'm not denying, but not having voices was always made out to be such a fatal flaw, but really seems like a tiny thing compared to other problems.)

Voices add a fuckton of impact if you understand what they say. There's special lines depending on the enemy you fight, special lines during attacks for some bosses.
Moreover, unlike subtitles, voices don't distract you from the attack.

Sure SRW started without voices, but it also started without beautiful battle animations. Now they're the main focus so without voices they lose something.

Sure, Neo has new gameplay elements, but nothing is stopping Banpresto from adding those new features to a SRW with decent graphics.
Even basics SRPG gameplay elements would be welcomed, like bigger damage if you're attacked from behind or by an opponent standing higher than you, etc.

This is Shin Mazinger, so no, no Mazinkaiser. You get Shin Getter late in the game. You'll get Sol Gravion soon. Goddannar isn't in this game.

Zero's tactics commands are useful. Tamaki and Jewgi are pure support. Tohdoh is okay but not outstanding.

No. Nirvash spec2 sucks and specV is only barely kind of good. Boring as hell, though, with only two attacks. The only thing good about it is Eureka's SP Regen and support spirits.

Oh please, hope this isn't autosage'd yet. I just got Internet access and i have questions on Z2

-Does the game covers the Kuumen Arc (The one where Chirico fights in jungle) for Votoms? Cause as far as i go, there's none (Maybe on a Votoms route that i missed, but i just want to be sure). I ask this because there's a character that is important at the final arc of the TV series, is he playable in the game?

-Is the secret unit Scopedog TC-ISS (Pailsen Files unit) better than the Scopedog we got regularly (TC-LRS)?

I heard that if Gaia (or Godmars) is dead in game, it triggers a special Game Over screen. I do know what is the reason for it, but i wanted to see it in game. Is there a video for it? I can't find it on YT.

Kuumen isn't in the game and the only AT pilot you get through out the whole game is Chirico. You get some guest characters in one of the stages, but that's it. I know who you're talking about and I was really hoping we could use him. Guess not in this one, though.

The ISS seems to have better overall stats. It also comes with a really cool rendition of the Pailsen Files OP theme as default. The Scopedog is a very powerful unit, however, so you can choose between the green one or the black one and still do amazingly well with Chirico.

As for Gaia, I'm not sure, but it's not that hard to trigger it if you're early in the game and haven't upgraded him. Just auto-save at the start and plop him in the middle of a bunch of enemies. It's a really cool screen, though.

ISS Scopedog is a bit stronger at the cost of fewer attacks/bullets. Also the dynamic kill on it's best attack is way cooler.

So at this point Crow has 500pp and one slot to fill, I could either make his Air rank S and give him hit and away or give him attack again and pump the rest into skill. Or something else entirely... Will Limit Break? Ignore Size? He already has Continuous Movement and B Save... What do you think?
